At ACDS, we strive to build students of character. At our spirit assemblies, students lead students in broadening their understanding of five traits which demonstrate outstanding character.
Teachers incorporate these “T.I.G.E.R.” traits in lessons and look for opportunities to recognize students who demonstrate these behaviors.
“Tolerance is being okay with someone’s beliefs and giving them the same rights you claim for yourself.” (Eliza, Grade 6)
“Integrity is to be nice and to do the right thing.” (Charles, Grade 4)
“Generosity is being kind, thoughtful and sharing what you have with others.” (Cutter, Grade 2)
“Empathy is seeing someone else’s situation and imagining how you would feel if it were you.” (Megan, Grade 5)
“Responsibility is respectfully doing what you are supposed to do even when you would rather be irresponsible.” (Jacob, Grade 8)
