Ms. Sue (Susan) Donohoe is the recipient of the Dave Dixon Leadership Award and will be inducted into the LA Sports Hall of Fame in June 2017. This prestigious award is given to individuals who have played a decisive role as a sports leader or administrator benefiting Louisiana and/or bringing credit to Louisiana on the national and international level. She is the first female to ever receive this award.
Sue played basketball at Country Day, and was given the title “Most Athletic” in 1972. She went on to play for Pineville High School and began her college career at Louisiana Tech. In 1982, she was a graduate assistant coach who helped bring the Lady Techsters to their NCAA championship. Ms. Donohoe served 12 years as the NCAA’s vice president for women’s basketball, and also directed the men’s basketball NCAA Division I championship.
